PLEASE HELP US TO HELP BLIND PEOPLE
Galloway's Society for the Blind ...
... are trying to find a volunteer who can offer a couple of hours a week or fortnight on a Friday afternoon to help produce their audio edition of the Catholic Universe; no experience is needed as full training and support will be given.
Volunteers record the readers using digital software on a computer, which produces a top quality recording.

GREETINGS ...
I hope that you don't mind me writing to you, but thought that you might like to know that, on Saturday 1 August 2009, I shall be abseiling down Peel Tower in the hope that I might be able to raise much needed funds for Galloway 's Society for the Blind.
Please sponsor me by clicking here.
Yes, I know that I have done it before, but do you think that that makes it any less scary ? I can assure you that it doesn't.
So here's the challenge.
We still have places available, so why don't you join me ?
If you phone me on any of the numbers shown below, or if you email me, I shall let you have Consent and Sponsorship Forms.
One way or the other, I look forward to hearing from you - best wishes.

GALLOWAY'S COMMUNITY CHOIR
Galloway's Community Choir is inviting prospective new members to join them.
The choir meets in Galloway's Society for the Blind premises at Howick House, Howick Park Avenue, Penwortham every Monday morning from 9.30am.
Musical Director, Jeff Borradaile said "we would love to see anyone who enjoys singing. They don't have to be great singers or able to read music. In fact, the only qualification is that they have to want to enjoy themselves."
Choir Secretary, Kath Jones, said "it's great fun and everyone is welcome. There are no auditions, we just ask people to turn up and join in. Later this year, we will be taking part in a choir competition at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester and it's not too late for newcomers to get involved in what will be an exciting event for us all."
The choir welcome all voices but particularly basses and tenors.
Anyone who would like more information should telephone Kath on 01772 746840 or Shelagh Bindloss, the choir's chairman, on 01772 749591.
