ALTAR SERVERS
We will always welcome any youngster who volunteers to serve at the altar.
We normally have practice sessions following First Communion each year but do feel free to volunteer at any time of the year and you will receive training.
Normally, training will be :
At St Teresa's, after school
-
At St Mary Magdalen's, after the Saturday or Sunday Masses
If you would like to be a server, please speak to Fr Austin.
The co-ordinator at St Mary Magdalen's is John Jones Tell. 746840 and at St Teresa's Patrica WilsonTell 744694.
When you are invested as a server, the priest says the following prayer :
Welcome into the ministry of service at the altar. This alb is the garment of your ministry.
Be worthy of the tasks you carry out when God's people gather here.
You will be close to Our Lord who comes to us in the Mass and is present in the Blessed Sacrament.
May your service at the altar draw you closer to Christ. This service is a privilege and honour.
By your devotion, reverence and example here, you will enhance our worship in this holy place.
Always be mindful that this is God's house. By your faithful service may you build up God's kingdom.
